Kitchen & Bar

Kitchen & Bar · First run

Three moves. Then cook.

No setup marathon. The point is to get one credible answer first, then let the shelf get smarter as you use it.

01 · Tonight

Start with the meal, not the database.

Tell Kitchen & Bar what kind of answer you need tonight. You can begin with only the ingredients you know you have; a perfect inventory is not required.

On this phone

The bar across the top scrolls sideways. These are the same stops, with the job of each one written out.

The pantry

Start from what is already in the fridge.

192 ingredients, every one of them with a line about what it is actually doing in the pan, and every one of the 1,261 dishes and drinks it turns up in. Each page also says what it is usually standing next to in this library, which is a fact about twelve hundred curated recipes rather than a guess.

Where these numbers come from

Every count on this page is read out of the same recipe library the ranking uses, so it cannot drift from what the app actually knows. The pairings are counted off required ingredients only — an optional one is a suggestion, and counting suggestions would tell you what we recommend rather than what these dishes are built from. If you would rather go the other way and start from a dish, the written library is the front door. If the problem is that a thing is missing rather than present, the substitutions run off the same library and say what each replacement actually costs.
