What it needs

Method

  1. Four or five dashes of Angostura into soda over ice, with a lemon peel expressed over the top.
  2. It is the oldest thing a bar will make for somebody not drinking, and it is still the best.
  3. Bitters are technically alcoholic but the quantity is a fraction of a milliliter, so say so and let the drinker decide.
  4. The bitterness gives it the length that fruit and sugar cannot, which is the whole problem with zero-proof drinks.
