Method

  1. Sweet vermouth over ice with tonic and a thick slice of orange. Low in alcohol and the correct thing to drink before dinner.
  2. Vermouth is a fresh ingredient. The bottle open in the cupboard since last year is why yours tastes stewed — keep it in the fridge and finish it inside a month.
  3. One part vermouth to two of tonic, and adjust toward the vermouth as the evening goes.
  4. It is what Italy drinks in the afternoon and it is almost unknown anywhere else.
