Beans make it dinner, not a side.

easyWhy tonight. Beans make it dinner, not a side.
What it needs
Nothing confirmed on your shelf yet — this list is the whole ask.
- pasta
- white beans
- rosemary
- garlic
- olive oil
Good if you have them, fine if you do not: parmesan.
Method
- Rosemary and sliced garlic warmed slowly in a lot of olive oil until the oil smells of both. Five minutes on low.
- Beans in with some of their liquid rather than drained and rinsed. That starch is what makes this creamy without cream.
- Crush about a third against the pan with a spoon, then stir them back in.
- Pasta and its water in, tossed hard until it coats. Lemon and parmesan at the end.

Cook or pour it, then edit the shelf if you emptied a bottle or used the last of something.
Why each of these is on the list
What the ingredients are actually doing
- pasta
- The sauce finishes on the pasta, not the other way around.
- white beans
- Creamy enough to thicken what they are in — mash a ladleful against the side of the pot and the whole dish gains body.
- rosemary
- Pine and resin, and strong enough to take over.
- garlic
- Burns in seconds and turns the whole dish bitter, so it almost never goes in first.
- olive oil
- Two ingredients sharing a name.
Missing one of them? The substitutions are written against those jobs rather than against a chart, so they say what each replacement costs this dish in particular.

Cook it, then tell the shelf what you used.
The ranking is only as honest as the shelf behind it. Empty the cream, and everything that leaned on cream should stop being offered.
