easyWhy tonight. Piña bones, no rum. Don't over-sweeten.
What it needs
Nothing confirmed on your shelf yet — this list is the whole ask.
- pineapple
- coconut milk
- lime
Good if you have them, fine if you do not: soda.
Method
- Shake the pineapple hard on its own first. It foams, and that foam is what gives a zero-proof drink the body alcohol usually provides.
- Coconut milk stirred in after, gently, or you lose the head you just built.
- Lime to cut it. Pineapple and coconut together are very sweet and very rich.
- Serve it over crushed ice so it stays cold without going watery in the first two minutes.

What the method is trying to make happen
Sequence, correction, heat and texture, equipment workarounds, scaling, and component reuse are available with this cook sheet.
An educational pour, not a reprint of a licensed spec. No allergen or alcohol-safety claim.
Cook or pour it, then edit the shelf if you emptied a bottle or used the last of something.
The technique underneath this
Going wrong while you cook it? Say what it is doing and the triage will tell you what is happening, the smallest move, and the instinct to resist.

Why each of these is on the list
What the ingredients are actually doing
- pineapple
- Sweet and aggressively acidic, and the raw fruit contains an enzyme that breaks down protein — useful in a marinade, ruinous in anything set with gelatin.
- coconut milk
- Fat that carries chili and spice further than water can, with a sweetness underneath.
- lime
- Sharper and more floral than lemon, and it fades faster — juice it the same hour you use it.
Missing one of them? The substitutions are written against those jobs rather than against a chart, so they say what each replacement costs this dish in particular.

Coconut pineapple cooler
Zero-proof colada sketch. Soda, not a blender. Lime keeps it adult.

Coconut rum highball
Rum, coconut and pineapple lengthened with soda, so it drinks long rather than thick. A piña colada that will not put you to sleep.

Painkiller
Rum, pineapple, orange and coconut, with nutmeg grated over the top. The nutmeg is not a garnish; leave it off and the drink is flat.

Piña colada
Rum, pineapple, coconut. Make it with real coconut cream and fresh pineapple and it stops being a joke drink.

Cook it, then tell the shelf what you used.
The ranking is only as honest as the shelf behind it. Empty the cream, and everything that leaned on cream should stop being offered.
