Method

  1. Fill the glass to the top with crushed ice before anything is poured. Frappé means the ice, not the drink.
  2. Crème de menthe poured over, then churned with a spoon until the glass frosts hard.
  3. A splash of soda and a squeeze of lime, which cuts the sweetness the classic version does not bother with.
  4. Serve it with a short straw and drink it fast. It is a digestif, not a session drink.
