Method

  1. 2 oz vodka and fresh orange juice over a full glass of ice.
  2. Fresh juice, squeezed that morning. There is nowhere at all for carton juice to hide in a two-ingredient drink, which is the whole reason this one has a poor reputation.
  3. Stir once. Orange juice separates and wants to be brought back together, unlike a fizzy mixer.
  4. A pinch of salt, or a dash of orange bitters, turns it from a breakfast cliché into something you would order.
